DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mining Planning and Design:
- Develop detailed mine plans considering geological data, ore body characteristics, and operational constraints.
 - Design and optimize pit configurations, haulage routes, and mining sequences to maximize ore recovery and minimize waste.
 - Waste dump design and control of Acid Mine Drainage
 
 - Operational Oversight:
- Monitor and analyze day-to-day mining operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
 - Collaborate with mining supervisors and operators to implement best practices and address operational challenges.
 - Assist with record keeping and reporting of mining activities.
 
 - Equipment Selection and Optimization:
- Evaluate and select appropriate mining equipment and technologies for efficient extraction.
 - Implement strategies to optimize equipment performance, reduce downtime, and enhance productivity.
 
 - Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Contribute to the development of mining budgets and cost estimates.
 - Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to control and reduce operational expenses.
 
 - Safety and Environmental Compliance:
- Champion safety protocols and ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
 - Implement environmentally sustainable practices, minimizing the impact of mining activities on the surrounding ecosystem and local community.
 
 - Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including geologists, surveyors, environmental engineers, and mining contractors.
 - Provide clear and concise reports to management on mining performance, challenges, and opportunities.
 - Training of Junior Mining Engineers.
 
 - Regulation and Compliance:
- Liaison with Internal Department, and Government Departments.
 - Integrate the Life of Mine Plan to ensure alignment with legal requirements and submit the Government mine plan to the relevant authorities.
 - Assist and monitor mining operations, including recording, and submitting mining report to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
 
 - Other projects specified by the Mine Planning Superintendent or Senior Mining Engineer.
 
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field
 - First Aid Certificate
 - Thailand-approved manual vehicle licence
 
Preferred:
- Postgraduate studies in one or more of Mineral Economics, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or Mining Engineering
 - Member of a Professional Mining or Geoscience Organisation
 - DPIM UAV Drone License (Entrepreneurial or General level)
 - DPIM Geologist License (General or Special Prospecting License)
 - Able to drive a manual transmission vehicle
