Cherdsak spent nearly three decades at Thailand’s Department of Mineral Resources, where he travelled across the country to explore various types of mineral deposits. With joy and passion in exploration works, he decided to pursue his Master’s Degree in Geology at University of Saskatchewan in Canada before taking managerial positions during his last 12 years there, which enabled him to take the lead in the fields of geology, policies and international coordination. He subsequently took on a new challenge as policy and planning expert in the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization).

He joined Akara in 2011 to oversee regulatory affairs and government relations. Along with his team, he is well-equipped to embed sustainability, promoting the balancing of relationship with environment and communities, in the culture and day-to-day work processes at the Chatree Gold Mine leading to long-term success for Akara.

With a 36-year career in various mining positions, Rob’s extensive operational and management expertise spans underground and open-cut mines, covering multiple commodities in Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand. With a keen focus on contract management, cost control, and business improvement strategies, he mentors
our team to ensure a secure future
for Chatree personnel.

Returning for his second term at the Chatree Gold Mine, Rob is dedicated to personal growth and succession planning, reinforcing his commitment to fostering a sustainable and secure future for Akara.

For over 21 years, Warong has been a noteworthy leader in the operations at the Chatree Gold Mine. During his role as the Process Manager, he took pride in providing as cost-effective and safe metallurgical plant as possible. Since attending the 2004 MetPlant Conference in Australia, he further mastered his expertise and was able to achieve the reduction in cyanide consumption and secured the title of
“Cyanide Code Management Champion”
for the Chatree Gold Mine.

Armed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and first-hand expertise acquired over the years, he plans to increase motivation, engagement and collaboration among the crew members aboard “The Akara Ship” and steer the crew towards creating the greater good for society.

A true pioneer at Akara, Chamrat was part of the Chatree Gold Mine Discovery Team in 1989.

Specialized in identification and evaluation of potential zones for gold mineralization, Chamrat has led numerous exploration projects in many countries including Thailand, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia and Ghana.

Prior to his role at Akara, he worked at several leading companies such as Newmont Exploration Limited, Thai Gold Field Limited and Siam Antimony Limited. He is an active member of Geological Society of Thailand and is recognized for his demonstrated expertise in mineral exploration. Under his stewardship, exciting discoveries are expected to be uncovered in the future.
