Duties and Accountabilities:
- Manage collection, verification, storage and modelling of geological, geotechnical and geometallurgical data to support resource development, mine planning, mine operations, ore processing and waste management.
- Manage drilling contracts and analytical/ geophysical/ geotechnical/ geometallurgical/ hydrogeological testwork contracts as necessary.
- Provide safety leadership for all Akara and contractor geoscience activities.
- Manage reconciliation processes and provide analysis and reporting of results as required.
- Design and manage technical projects to support continuous improvement.
- Support Resource model input data and assumptions for annual updates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Honours degree in Geology. Postgraduate qualifications will be viewed favourably.
- Extensive multi-commodity mine geology and brownfields experience in a signficant mining operation.
- Datamine Software experience (or he/she to be willing to learn).
- Manual vehicle driving licence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent people management, project management and team capability development skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
